"Fawn": A South Korean Greyhound

Look at those ears!
Meet "Fawn".

Fawn was rescued from a shelter in Incheon S. Korea.  She's had a lovely time with her foster family, Minna and her husband, and is on her way to the States in November.

11/25/2011 Update:
Fawn and a male greyhound will now be coming into San Francisco on Dec. 18th, to be taken in by Wine Country Greyhound Adoption.  I'm bummed I won't be fostering her, but I know Heather et al will take great care of her and Youngdong (who I bet will get a new name).

UPDATE: Her flight plans are now unsure.  We don't know yet where or when she'll hit the States!  You can get the latest on BTRGSR's Facebook page.

Can't wait to put some meat on those bones!
An intrepid and passionate group has formed recently to rescue sighthounds around the world, calling themselves Born To Run Global Sighthound Rescue.  Click on the link and you can see Fawn's page, and donate to help the group in their efforts.

Nom!  Food!
Fawn is "low-grade positive" for heart-worm and has started her treatment.  She's thin as a rail, carries some scars to hint at her former life, but has an appetite for food that will tend to the former, and a gentle personality that out-shine the latter.

Minna says she's gentle, walks well on lead already, likes a snuggle or to play around, and can be a little shy when she first meets people, but warms up quickly.  She seems to be small animal safe, not paying any attention to cages of cats at the vet's, and no undue excitement while enjoying her walks.

I hope to foster this gal when she makes it to the states, and help to smooth her way into her new life here, working through her heart-worm treatment and her spay, introducing her to life on this side of the globe, letting my boys show her the ropes.

Ssshhhh!  Thinking of my dinner!
She may not make it this far north though, as she will land in Los Angeles, November 18th.  What works best for her is the main goal, so if there is a group willing to take her on in southern California, and a place for her to stay until she finds her forever home down there, then so be it.  If, on the other hand, a GUR can be set up to bring her to the Pacific Northwest, where a group has already offered to take her under their wing, and I'm ready to foster her, that would also be great!

I'll keep you updated
